the adventures of car sharing.

Oh, the funniest thing...

The last two mornings I drove my dad to work so that I could have the use of the car. I was actually planning to get everything done yesterday, but after I got home I decided that I needed more sleep, and as it was only 6:03am I decided to have a couple of extra hours. But, silly me... I slept in too late, and I didn't have enough time to get all of my running around things done by the time I needed to. So, I drove my dad to work, came home, slept, woke up, did things at home... and then I went and picked dad up. Ha, really silly... Anyways... Today I really really had to get those things done, so I drove my dad to work again. And yes... I did get my things done, and it meant that I didn't have to catch the bus to work which was rad. Anyways, (this is the funniest thing that I mentioned earlier...) As I was driving towards the big round-a-bout to cross the bypass in nar nar goon, I saw what I thought was a plastic bag in the middle of the road, and I decided to go round. As I got closer I realised that it wasn't a plastic bag, it was actually a chicken! It looked like it was standing there dead, or in shock. I had to double check that it even had a head... it was so bizarre! Ahh... fancy that, a chicken!

Ahh, it was so worth getting up so early! Oh, and my dad works down lovers lane! I had totally forgotten and when I saw the sign I was tres excited! So incredibly Anne-ish. Except there is nothing down lovers lane except for an emu farm and an abbatoir... not very romantic, but incredibly funny!

well, at least it's good for the environment...

How tragical. I will be totally without a car after Saturday. I really don't know how my life will work...

modular mates and other things.

Happy Bridal Shower Belinda! On Saturday it was Bel's bridal shower / kitchen tea / what ever you want to call it. We actually decided to do her a tupperware one before I became a demonstrator... but as it worked out, it was my first party! And it was a huge success! Bel ended up with loads of tupperware, and the total sales were very nice indeed! Twas great for my first party, hopefully my next few parties are good too!

I don't have any pictures, but hopefully I can get some from someone...

Oh, and Danielle Bianca made the best ever Belgian lemon tea cake. It was AWESOME!!

On the note of bridalness... Last night we had some hens night planning... I think all of the bridesmaids are quite happy with what we came up with. Of course, I can't say what we came up with... what if Bel found out!

so close... yet so far.

Oh, so it seems that i'm not tech savvy at all... no, no... I'm actually quite the opposite. You see, the problem is this. I made a totally sweet compilation... but I can't figure out how to get the songs off my ipod and into itunes and then... onto a cd. Ahh, it is frustrating. Oh well. I have always wanted to make a sweet compilation... and I finally did. A really good one too. I think Wendy would be impressed. But I can't give it to her.

The end.

tupperlady.

I have my very own tupperware kit! Oh gosh, this thing is fo shiz...

I like the cold. I'm not complaining!

Yesterday I had my very first dairy experience at work! (Well, excluding when I did stocktake...) I must say I really enjoyed it. Today I did another few hours also. Yesterday I was just working load, and today I was shown how to do markdowns. It was amazing how quickly the time flew by... Maybe because i'm doing something new... but probably because there is so much to keep you busy. Next week I will be given another couple of shifts, then the week after I will do a full week... and then there will be discussions about starting my part time position. They decided to ease me into the department, rather than just throwing me in... which I really appreciate. But so far I really like working in dairy. It is quite physical and cold... but I'll get used to it.

I can't say I ever really considered a career with coles, but I guess when there are opportunities to move up and around, why not take them? I mean, I'm not exactly doing anything else, am I now!

playing house and making friends of the woofy kind.

So I haven't really written anything of interest lately, (i'm sure nobody cares that I can't spell people...) so I think its time to do so! Well, at least try to do so. So... here we go.

At the moment I am housesitting for Janneke and Nic while they are in Papua New Guinea. It has been both a fun and interesting experience. I have enjoyed having my own space, but at the same time I have really missed living with people. I have not been totally alone however. I have had the company of Ben & Penny... two rather lovely dogs. Now, prior to this experience, I really didn't like dogs generally speaking... and I was quite scared of them. For the first two nights or so at Janneke's I got my sibs to come over and feed them. But then I decided to be brave and go out and spend some time with them. And... what do you know! Penny sure does bark a lot, but all she wants is her belly rubbed. And all Ben wants to do is play fetch. And so now I have two new friends.

This experience has opened me up to the possibility of one day becoming a dog owner! Something I never thought I wanted to be by choice... but yeah, there you go! Maybe one day I will!
