Yesterday I had my very first dairy experience at work! (Well, excluding when I did stocktake...) I must say I really enjoyed it. Today I did another few hours also. Yesterday I was just working load, and today I was shown how to do markdowns. It was amazing how quickly the time flew by... Maybe because i'm doing something new... but probably because there is so much to keep you busy. Next week I will be given another couple of shifts, then the week after I will do a full week... and then there will be discussions about starting my part time position. They decided to ease me into the department, rather than just throwing me in... which I really appreciate. But so far I really like working in dairy. It is quite physical and cold... but I'll get used to it.
I can't say I ever really considered a career with coles, but I guess when there are opportunities to move up and around, why not take them? I mean, I'm not exactly doing anything else, am I now!

playing house and making friends of the woofy kind.
So I haven't really written anything of interest lately, (i'm sure nobody cares that I can't spell people...) so I think its time to do so! Well, at least try to do so. So... here we go.
At the moment I am housesitting for Janneke and Nic while they are in Papua New Guinea. It has been both a fun and interesting experience. I have enjoyed having my own space, but at the same time I have really missed living with people. I have not been totally alone however. I have had the company of Ben & Penny... two rather lovely dogs. Now, prior to this experience, I really didn't like dogs generally speaking... and I was quite scared of them. For the first two nights or so at Janneke's I got my sibs to come over and feed them. But then I decided to be brave and go out and spend some time with them. And... what do you know! Penny sure does bark a lot, but all she wants is her belly rubbed. And all Ben wants to do is play fetch. And so now I have two new friends.
This experience has opened me up to the possibility of one day becoming a dog owner! Something I never thought I wanted to be by choice... but yeah, there you go! Maybe one day I will!

from checkout chick to dairy queen?
So yesterday at work, I got a gold star! I thought that was pretty cool. (Not an actual gold star, but a certificate and chocolates because I got 100% in some customer first check thingo... ha, I don't even really know what it means other than I have good customer service skills...) Anyway, today while I was at work, Fiona approached me to tell me that they have a part time position in dairy, 32 hours per week... for me! At first I was like heck yes, but it does mean that I have to work weekends... and yes, Sundays. I really don't want to work Sundays, even though the money is good. They won't make me work mornings at least... and I am hoping that it is not every sunday. If it was only a couple a month, I would strongly consider it. Well i'm strongly considering it anyway. Sigh. I really hope it is not every Sunday...
So yeah. I have easter to think about it, and then the store manager will talk to me. It will be a very different job, and honestly it does make me a tad sad to give up being a checkout chick, which is kinda funny... but I do enjoy it. I'm sure the dairy thing will be hard work, but it will be good. Of course I know I will take the job... but that doesn't mean I've finished thinking and praying about all that I need to. It really does come at a good time though, I think. I need stable hours, I really do. And 32 is a pretty good amount I reckon!
So yeah. That is my latest story!
Another thing... As I was walking out from work and saying bye to everyone, one of the girls I work with was like 'what's that you've got?' (I was holding the position description thingo) I showed her and she was like 'you put that back!'... Oh, to be loved!

In other news...
I almost forgot. I am going to become a tupperware demonstrator! I really hope this new adventure is successful, and that the people around me are supportive. I just figured it would be a great opportunity for me to get out there and have some fun, meet some new people and earn some extra money. I love the fact that it is flexible, and that I can work around my checkout chickness. So yes. I am having a go, so fingers & toes it's a winner. I'm having my announcement party on Tuesday evening, so hopefully lots of people come along and book parties to get me started!
I refuse to go numb...
Well. I just went to the dentist. I got 3 of the 6 fillings I need (eek) and my mouth is very numb. But the worst of it all (and one of the main reasons why I had put off going to the dentist for so long)... I have to get my wisdom teeth removed. Apparently this won't be an easy task... as they aren't exactly exposed. I am really really not looking forward to this! Financially, it is a dumb time... (I have no idea how much is costs... but it is gonna cost something!) I have to get a car, pay for a bridesmaids dress and other related things... all in the same sort of time frame. Sigh... Oh well, this is an opportunity. An opportunity to trust God and to let him be my provider.
So yeah. That is my story.
So yeah. That is my story.

Last night I went and saw the basics and gotye at the prince and it was wonderful! I have been wanting to see the basics for ages, but just never really got round to it... and I really wanted to see gotye, like really, coz he is awesome... so I was very happy indeed. And yeah. All I can say is that if you ever get the chance to see gotye... do it! Just one guy and all that music... incredible!

going down...
I have lost 3kgs in the last 3 weeks, and I am pretty happy about it! I am actually looking forward to being weighed and measured next week... for once in my life! I guess all I really needed was some good motivation. And it seems that the whole bridesmaid thing is a good motivator. So yay for Bel and Tom getting hitched!
I heart the library
Today I was bored. So I decided to go to the library. Before today, I hadn't gone to the library in well over a year... but I am very glad I did indeed! Did you know that you can borrow an unlimited number of books for 4 weeks? And 15 cd's for 2 weeks? Coz you can!
I have recently decided that I want to read more. Fancy that! I spend way too much of my time watching movies and tv on dvd... I mean I do love nothern exposure, don't get me wrong... but one should really do other things with their time. And I think I need to stretch my imagination a little. I really haven't been letting it be all that it really is. I am sorry, imagination of mine! (Note to self: must finish reading all of the anne books... I kind of stopped half way through anne's house of dreams for some unknown reason...)
I have also decided that I want to learn how to knit properly. I mean, anyone can knit one purl one, but I want to be able to knit knit. Like make cardigans and socks and stuff. Well, I borrowed this super rad book... and now i'm all inspired.
I also really want to get into drawing again. So I borrowed a bunch of books to do with drawing. I even got this one little book that is all about drawing hands. I really suck at drawing hands...
And yeah. I am excited. And feeling rather inspired... so there you go!

fun times
Ha, I totally published that last one at 11:11!
And I think it was today at work that I looked at the screen when the total of all scanned items so far came to... $111.11!
Gosh, I have a real talent for finding fun numbers. If that is even possible...

walking home late at night
It is always a scary walk from The Villa to my house late at night. There is a particular stretch that is terribly dark... it really freaks me out. Anyhoo, I was just saying to Danielle how creepy it was and then I was all 'ooh, better not scare myself'... and then I left for the oh so long journey home. Yes, I freaked out along the usual part... but then it gets to a 'safe spot' which is nice and light. And then it gets to my driveway... By the driveway, I am relieved because I am home, but part of me still races up and into the house as quickly as I can. This time... was no different from any other, except for one little thing. As I raced up the driveway I walked through a massive spider web... so massive I didn't even know what it was. I was rubbing my arms and it felt really static and strange. I loudly entered the house to see all of these buggy things stuck to me. It was yuck. And there you go. Just when I thought I could relax, I got quite a fright! The end.
(Yep, another extremely crap story. It's what I do...)
I feel like there are spiders crawling all over me p.s.

happy sounds.
Heeharr... I bought cd's today. And last night I ordered another online. I am excited... though there were a few that I couldn't find that I wanted... probably not a bad thing though, coz I shouldn't be spending all my money on cd's! Sometimes it just can't be helped...
oops and again oops...
As of late, I have somehow gotten into the ridiculous habit of leaving things sitting on the roof of the car and then driving off. It usually always involves at least a bottle of water + something else... which has included board games and dvd's. My first offense was a board game. I was driving around the round-a-bout and this dude was pointing at me and I turned around thinking why the heck is he pointing, but as I accelerated up the hill I heard a thud... and there it was all over the road. I then had to go back and pick it all up. Thankfully the cards didn't scatter everywhere... was a tad embarassing though. But yeah I've done it at least 3 times in the last week or two... oh dear!!

no need for bus money just yet...
Do you want to know what I found out today? I found out that I have until mid year to buy my own car. How fabulous! I honestly thought I had three weeks or until whenever it is that Jemimah gets back from Paris. Nobody told me that she wasn't going back to uni until mid year... I have been stressing A LOT about the fact that I will be carless very soon... but that is not the case it seems. I really need to learn to stress less... my teeth REALLY hurt. Oh gosh...
kitten love
Tonight I stormed out of the house in fits of rage (almost literally) and headed off to anywhere (by foot). I was hoping to chill out at the park for a while to do some thinking and some calming, but some kids were playing... what they were still doing up was beyond me! Anyways, I walked a little way but not too far (as I didn't change into appropriate shoes) and hoped to walk away all that was going on in my head. But I had nowhere to go and I didn't feel like walking for ages so I turned around and headed back towards the park. Just as I was approaching, some people were leaving and I noticed that there was a cat wandering around. I walked over to the playground to sit and process stuff... and this little kitty just wouldn't leave me alone! It was pretty intense. At first I wanted it to get away... but it wouldn't give up on me. It was sitting on my lap, purring, trying to climb up my chest... if I moved away... it would run right up to me. It reminded me of a time years ago when I was deeply upset and all I wanted was a hug, and out of nowhere a little kitten came up and began smooching my leg. I really felt that it was God giving me a hug. Maybe God sent this kitty to me also... I mean it worked. I forgot about all that was eating me up. It calmed me down. And then I went home, and life was ok.
I did take photos, but I couldn't find my cord... so I will have to upload them later.

A silly story and a deeper thought...
Well... I am good at not posting for ages, and then when I do its boring! Ha! But I won't let that stop me from having a ramble...
So. I don't really know what there is to say actually. I feel all blocked up on the inside recently, it is quite frustrating. Let me think...
The other day I was to start work at 6am. I usually set my alarm clock for 4:44 on those days, just so I am actually up by the time I am supposed to be... which is about 5. Usually I snooze it once, then I get up. But on this particular morning, it didn't quite happen that way. I'm not quite sure if I snoozed and ignored, or if I just didn't wake up... or if I was confused. But as it turned out I didn't actually wake up until 5:44... The time I usually leave! I had a little bit of a freak out... I mean I was supposed to be opening up the front end. If I was late or didn't show... people would be angry. Anyway... I got ready in lightning speed and got myself to work. And guess what time I signed on at? 5:59! Can you believe it? Heck, I can't! From in bed to at work in 15 minutes. I must say it was some sort of miracle. When I was sleeping literally 10 seconds from were I was working it took me longer than that. Ok, so I must admit... I wasn't wearing socks, I didn't eat breakfast and I didn't clean my teeth (eew)... but I was there. And that is my story!
What else...
Yeah. Life is intense in a very nothingness kind of way. I'm sure that makes no sense at all... I get what I mean. Sort of. I just keep getting stuck thinking about things, but nothing much comes from it. I dunno... its like this. I really want change in my life, but I'm not prepared to do what is required to make it happen. It is a horrible way to live, and it is only the fault of myself. And this is something I am very aware of. Hmmm...
My internet is being a poo... what's the bet that this thing doesn't post...

pink k 68...
Oooh... I went to the eating house in rowville for new years and won a $50 voucher for the restaurant. I know I always win everything... but please don't hate me! So, who's up for some modern australian cuisine! I am! (Tis very good food there. The music ain't bad either!)
HAPPY NEW YEAR!
So yay, it is 2008 already. My thoughts on 2007... well, i'm trying not to look backwards. All of the things that I wish I done, that I thought would happen etc... are in the past. This year is fresh with no mistakes in it... well, no mistakes in it yet! But I am very excited at all of the possibilities. And this year, I don't want to hold back and let fear control me. I don't want to watch things happen... I want to get amongst it. I want to grow and learn and experience things. At the same time I don't want to go crazy and put too much pressure on myself and then be dissapointed when I fail. When I fall I will get up again and just keep swimming!
So bring on 2008!
So bring on 2008!
